Intersect Committee Election Results 2026

The April 2026 Intersect Committee Elections have now concluded.

This cycle saw 102 candidates stand for 37 seats across eight committees, reflecting broad participation across the membership. Congratulations to our candidates and to our members who participated in the election.

To support candidates and committees throughout, Intersect hosted five X Spaces and five Virtual Hub sessions, spanning the application and voting phases of these elections. Live discussions enabled us to directly hear from the candidates, their talents, motivations and commitment to Cardano and, importantly, why they should represent you in the Committees.

All candidates who were elected will receive onboarding materials in the coming days, alongside guidance to support a consistent and effective start across committees.

To those stepping into roles, welcome. To those who stood but were not elected, thank you! And to those who took the time to review candidates and vote, your participation is what gives this process its legitimacy.

The full breakdown of results is below.

A total of 187 unique members (24.8% of eligible voters) cast 3,967 ballots.

This level of participation reflects a community that is actively engaging in governance, while also highlighting the opportunity to continue broadening participation over time.

Verification of results
Following the close of voting, Intersect undertook a routine post-election review, alongside an independent third-party audit. This process identified patterns in voting activity that warranted closer examination.

To ensure the highest standards of transparency and trust, Intersect works with an independent auditor Dquadrant to review election results.

After careful review, and in consultation with the independent auditor, the decision was taken to proceed with the announced results, while initiating additional steps to strengthen membership verification and election processes.

We have published a separate, detailed statement outlining these findings, the approach taken, and the path available to affected members. Our focus remains on maintaining trust in the process while continuing to improve how participation is supported and safeguarded.

An outline of the audit process:

  1. Input data - Dquadrant receives vote exports (CSV & JSON) by position and records cryptographic hashes.
  2. Schema validation - Each voting record for each candidate must contain at least member_id, membership_type, membership_buy_date, and voting_date.
  3. Eligibility checks - Membership status is verified, and its purchase date must precede the registration cutoff.
  4. Timing verification - All votes must fall within the authorized voting window.
  5. Tally and reconciliation

You can view the full audit report here, download the raw data to run an independent audit here, and read the full statement here.

Thank you to our outgoing committee members

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all outgoing committee members whose terms have come to an end. These individuals have been instrumental in shaping the initial iterations of decentralized governance on Cardano, providing strategic input, building working-group infrastructure, and helping define each committee's operational models.

Their dedication laid the groundwork for what Intersect and Cardano governance have become. We recognize the time, energy, and care each member brought to the role and thank them for their lasting contributions to the ecosystem. As we welcome a new wave of committee members, we carry forward the legacy of those who helped build the path we walk today.

Thank you to all participants

These elections reflect the continued commitment of the Cardano community to participate in governance and shape its direction.

A heartfelt thank you to every participant: the elected candidates stepping into leadership, those who put themselves forward to serve, and every member who took the time to cast thoughtful, informed votes. Your commitment is what powers a truly decentralized future.

We also want to recognize the vibrant conversations across Discord and X, your debates, ideas, and perspectives are what bring governance to life. Keep them coming.

Looking ahead, the next round of elections will take place in 2027. Building on the momentum and learnings so far, the community is well on its way to reaching even greater heights. As participation grows, so too does the responsibility to ensure processes remain fair, transparent, and resilient. This will continue to be a focus in the periods ahead.
