Intersect weekly update #136 Nov 6, 2026

17 min

Welcome to Intersect’s update #136

Dijkstra is live on DijkstraNet, the values it will run on are still being settled. That makes it a good time to check a few settings of your own……

  • DijkstraNet has forked and Node 11.2.1 is next. See what to do now, by role.
  • CAP-12 has reached version 5, with around thirty values still pending.
  • EMURGO plans to deregister its DReps on November 30. Is yours still a good match?
  • The Annual Members Meeting is coming in the week of December 7, with a day that chases the sun.
  • Jack Briggs on BeInCrypto, and how Cardano may show up at 12 conferences in 2027.

If you do one thing this week: take a few minutes to check in on your DRep.

Latest on Cardano upgrades

DijkstraNet successfully hard-forked to protocol version 12 using node 11.2 on November 2, 2026 at 00:00 UTC. DB-Sync 13.8.0.0 released with all operators advised to update across Preview, Preprod, and Mainnet networks.

Cardano Node Releases

11.1.3 - The current recommended release for use across Preview, Preprod, and Mainnet.

11.2 Pre-Release - For use on DijkstraNet, now running in protocol version 12 for the testing of all Dijkstra era features except full Linear Leios - only SPO BLS key registration is supported at this time. Not yet cleared for Mainnet.

Rc 2026w44 - The latest release for use on the Musashi network, containing full Linear Leios and a version of the full Dijkstra feature set.

11.2.1 - Soon to be released with Mainnet clearance and will contain a fix for a memory usage regression observed in the 11.1.x release line. Returning memory usage to levels comparable with Node 11.0.

11.3 - Target release candidate that combines the full Dijkstra era feature set, including Linear Leios. Estimated to be at least 2-3 weeks away.

A compatibility matrix for Cardano Node, Cardano CLI, DB-Sync, feature availability, and network config links can be found in Upgrade Bulletin 41.

SPOs and node operators

  • Prepare for the upcoming Mainnet release of Node 11.2.1. Review the release notes and memory usage benchmarks before upgrading.
  • Begin assessing the Dijkstra features available on DijkstraNet, including BLS key registration, while noting that Linear Leios is not included in 11.2.

Wallets, tooling teams and infrastructure operators

  • Start integration testing on DijkstraNet now, using Node 11.2 and the available Dijkstra era features - CIP-50, CIP-112, CIP-118, CIP-159, CIP-167, CIP-176, CIP-181, Plutus V4 Script Context, Reference Script Pricing and Limits, BLS key registration.
  • Use the 11.3 prototype on Musashi for early integration testing of Leios-related functionality - consensus and throughput.
  • Report compatibility issues and missing functionality through the relevant testnet Discord channels - #dijkstra-net and #musashi-testnet.

Hardware wallet providers

  • Review the Dijkstra changes affecting stake pool registration certificates and BLS key support.
  • Engage early with development teams to identify remaining compatibility gaps ahead of the hard fork-ready release.

Constitutional Committee members, SPOs, and DReps

  • Review the latest proposed constitutional amendments (CAP-12) and guardrails in the Constitutional Amendment Portal.
  • Provide feedback as the next iteration of the Constitution is prepared, particularly on the proposed parameter values.

Node implementation teams and ecosystem contributors

  • Participate in the Node Diversity Workshop in London on November 12–13. Registrations are now closed as of November 5.

Constitutional Amendment Portal (CAP) updates

The Constitutional Amendment Portal is where proposed changes to the Cardano Constitution can be published, widely reviewed and discussed in the open before going to an on-chain vote.
Our Constitution sets the rules for how Cardano is governed. This is particularly important right now because of Dijkstra. The upcoming hard fork brings new protocol parameters and CAP-12 proposes how the Constitution should define them and limit them through guardrails. Reading and commenting on them now helps shape those limits before a final version gets submitted.

CAP-12, the Dijkstra era parameters amendment, moved the most. Version 5 (posted October 30) took in most of the last two weeks of technical review. Leios parameters can no longer be set to zero, the on-chain off switch has been taken out of the constitutional text with deactivation left to the hard fork plan, and the null encoding for maximum pledge leverage is confirmed.
Editor notes followed on November 2. A few minimum values the Guardrails Script could check are now marked uncheckable, one decrease rule is missing, and some descriptions place parameters in the wrong governance group. Around thirty values are still pending and await Parameter Committee feedback. A sixth version is expected.

Summary of other current CAPs:
CAP-10: SPO approval for stake pool economic parameters, reached version 4 on November 2. Editor notes ask for a transitional clause, a range and initial value for the new voting threshold, and a clear link to CAP-12.
CAP-9: Removing the immutable storage requirement for governance metadata, reached version 3 on November 3. Editor notes flag that a new sentence says “consistent with” where the ratified text says “identical to”, which loosens the requirement.

CAP-3: Evolving the Net Change Limit into a strategic spending plan, has had no new version since October 21. If you have a view on version 4, now is the time to comment.

Waiting for replies: CAP-1, CAP-2, CIS-4, and CIS-11 all have open questions from reviewers. A short reply or a fresh version from the authors will restart the discussion.
Get involved: The next CAP Review session is Thursday, November 12 at 07:00 UTC (Luma). Read the proposals on the Constitutional Amendment Portal.

Civics Committee DRep Campaign

Amendments like the above eventually go to an on-chain vote, and DReps are among those who decide. So it’s a good moment to check who’s voting for you.
Intersect Civics Committee will begin a “Check your DRep” campaign Monday following EMURGO's announcement that they will deregister their DRep keys on November 30. Throughout the month, Civics is asking ada holders to take a few minutes to check status of their chosen DRep, by reviewing recent votes, and comparing other active DReps to ask the question “Is your DRep still a good match for you?”. The message is: “Keep your DRep or choose a new one, the choice is yours - but make it an informed one”.

Node diversity moves forward as Amaru's November 5 release lifts the limit that kept block forging to test networks and adds a software tag showing which node implementation produced a block. Its minimum viable block producer milestone is still open, with a November 12 target. That’s also the day Node builders will meet in London for the Node Diversity Workshop, which looks at moving Amaru from beta toward a first viable mainnet release.

Are you building on Cardano? The Cardano Foundation's developer ecosystem survey is open until November 30. It takes about 15 minutes and helps tool builders, documentation authors, and funders decide what to work on first. Answers are published on-chain, so keep personal details out of the free-text fields.

Researching a key cost parameter. Proposals closed November 4 on the Technical Steering Committee's request for research into how far Cardano's utxoCostPerByte parameter can safely be reduced. The study covers network sustainability, UTxO set growth, storage, node operations, and security.

Cardano Global Events 2027. How Cardano shows up around the world next year is heading to DReps. The Cardano Foundation has published a proposal for a shared presence at 12 conferences in 2027, ahead of a planned governance action, and is holding two DRep sessions on Monday, November 9. Cardano education, from Indonesia to Mexico. Fanny Wijaya has completed 10 Cardano books in Bahasa Indonesia this year, explaining blockchain through everyday analogies. In Mexico, a report on the UNLOCK University Tour covers six talks and activations at four institutions, and why scholarship sign-ups fell short of the target. It's a useful read if you're planning university outreach.
